Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC) has gained another international recognition when the College of American Pathologists declared that the test reports of the PIC pathology laboratory meet international standards.
According to a hospital spokesperson, PIC is the first government hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to participate in the proficiency testing of the American College of Pathologists, adding that the American College collected more than 250 blood samples and other samples to send to the C laboratory. Laboratory testing included samples from hematology, chemical pathology, microbiology, blood bank, and patient bedside machines. The laboratory also identified a number of germs and tested various medications used to treat diseases, which were accurate.
