Benedict’s Test

The Benedict’s test is used to detect simple carbohydrates. The Benedict test identifies reducing sugars (monosaccharides and some disaccharides) that have free ketone or aldehyde functional groups. Benedict’s solution can be used to detect the presence of glucose in urine.
